The Associate Director of Student Life communicates regularly with students, their families and the Academy faculty and staff.  The successful candidate is detail-oriented, but flexible, can multi-task in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and has experience of working with teenagers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Residential Life Hire, train and oversee all residential life staff in both the year-round program and the 5-week summer intensive program. Oversee communication and coordination with the Facilities Department for dorm and apartment maintenance. Manage student application and assignment to Houston Ballet housing. Support Academy recruiting efforts by coordinating short term stays for prospective students. Career Planning Oversee the curriculum and logistics of the year-round Professional Program students’ job search, applications and auditions. Work directly with students to support their individual professional pursuits. Health & Wellness Liaise with Houston Methodist for student injury and illness. Work with Academy Director and Health & Wellness team to develop and implement protocols that best support student success. Maintain confidentiality while working with students with health and wellness concerns. Oversee health and wellness curriculum and coordinate with the health and wellness staff and faculty. Student Activities Oversee student academic support, including study hall and ESL. Maintain a high level of targeted communication with students and their families. Coordinate interdepartmental requests for student participation for public relations and development events. Coordinate and manage student events, including logistics, budgeting, and stakeholder collaboration. Acquire necessary information for student VISA applications and complete full application process through SEVIS for both full year and summer programs.  Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree  3-5 years work experience supporting students Strong writing, communication and presentation skills Microsoft Office skills, especially Word, Excel and Office. Background knowledge of dance/ ballet vocabulary preferred Experience working with an arts organization is preferred CPR & First Aid Training (can be provided by Houston Ballet) Mental Health First Aid (can be provided by Houston Ballet) Work Environment: Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation. Regular –  Monday- Friday 9AM-5PM with the  availability to frequently work outside of normal business hours and on  weekends. *Only applicants that meet the required qualifications and that submit a cover letter and resume will be considered for this position.
